Lions Mulch Sale
The Olney Lions Club will once again be selling 3 cubic foot bags of shredded mulch to raise funds for community charities. The bags of mulch are $4.50 and will be delivered to your door making spring cleanup a lot easier this year. Delivery of mulch will take place on April 10-11. 2010 Census-It's In Your Hands!
Complete count committees from all over Montgomery County are gearing up for the 2010 Census. Each person counted in Montgomery County equals 10,000 dollars of Federal money to the county. Census packets will be in the mail by the end of March. The census questionnaire consists of 10 questions. Please take time to fill out your form. All information gathered from the census forms is confidential. Mail your form back on Census Day-April 1. Please tell friends, neighbors, business colleagues, and club members to fill out their census form and be counted!

National Food Drive
Curves of Olney is holding their annual food drive from March 1-31. The food drive will benefit Olney HELP. Jeremy's Run
Jeremy’s Run is a 5k walk/run and a 1 mile fun run in memory of Jeremy Glass and to benefit the Partnership for a Drug Free America and Saving Teens in Crisis Collaborative. The race will take place on Monday, May 31 (Memorial Day) at the Oakdale Emory United Methodist Church in Olney.

Biz Buzz This Thursday
The Greater Olney Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Biz Buzz will be held this Thursday, February 25 from 5:30-7:30 in the wine bar at al Sospiro. The Biz Buzz is an informal networking opportunity for Chamber members. There is no cost to attend and reservations are not required. A cash bar is available for drinks and appetizers and members are welcome to stay for dinner. Al Sospiro Trattoria and Wine Bar is located at 18035 Georgia Ave. in Olney. Safety Tips
The Greater Olney Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Officer Sharif Hidayat from the Montgomery County Police and Ronnie Fewell from Granite Security for their safety tips and security recommendations at last week’s breakfast meeting. Two things that were stressed during the morning’s presentation were:1. If something looks suspicious, take the time to report it to the non-emergency police number at 301-279-8000. 2. Make sure your security system covers your needs and is in working order-it is not something you want to cut corners on. The Chamber would also like to thank George and Martini at Mamma Lucia for the delicious breakfast pizzas and their hospitality. What a way to start the day!

Scholarship Applications Available
Each year the Olney Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships to high school seniors. Applications are available on this site under "About the Chamber" and then "Forms." Realizing that students with leaning disabilities are often reluctant to apply for scholarships, the Olney Chamber has also developed a seperate application for such students. All applicants will be evaluated with equal opportunity. The Olney Chamber encourages all students to apply for the OCC Scholarship. Deadline to submit applications is April 23.
