Organization
Membership Committee:
The membership committee is responsible for recruiting new members, coming up with the content in the membership packets, and greeting members at Chamber events.
Legislative Committee:
The legislative committee keeps tabs on local, state, and national policies and their impact on the Greater Olney area.
Programs Committee:
The programs committee gathers topics for programs that may be of interest to Chamber members, helps schedule speakers and program dates.
Community Relations Committee:
The community relations committee finds members to volunteer at community events to raise awareness of the Chamber’s role in the community. The community relations committee also oversees the Chamber’s scholarship program. The scholarship committee is responsible for the scholarship application, the letter soliciting funds for the scholarships, and the scholarship selection committee.
Business Development Committee:
The business development committee works with the programs committee, and the NNO Out Chair and Community Night Chair to coordinate events within the business community.
Communications Committee:
The communications committee oversees publications of all events and coordinates press releases with local media.
IBUYOLNEY Committee:
IBUYOLNEY committee promotes buying local.
Crime Prevention Committee:
The crime prevention committee maintains contact with the local police department and updates the Chamber on local crime and what businesses can do to protect themselves.
Nominating Committee:
The nominating committee presents the slate of nominees for the yearly elections for vote of full membership. The committee also presents nominees for Chamber awards.
Satellite Station Liaison:
The satellite station liaison is the primary point of contact for the police and volunteers that work at the Satellite Station when issues arise with the station. They are also responsible for Satellite Station fundraising.
Olney Town Center Advisory Committee Liaison:
The OTCAC liaison reports to the Chamber Board about the OTCAC meetings.
Greater Olney Civic Association Liaison:
The GOCA liaison reports to the Chamber Board about the GOCA meetings.
Special Programs:
National Night Out Chair:
National Night Out is a crime prevention, police awareness event that takes place the first Tuesday in August. The Chair oversees committee meetings and runs the event.
Community Night/Taste of Olney:
Community Night/Taste of Olney is the Chamber’s Business Expo and takes place the first Wednesday in October at Longwood Community Center. The Chair oversees committee meetings and runs the event.
